Hardback in very poor condition. Cover heavily worn and separating from the book block. Repairs with archival tape to decorative endpapers (see pics).
The page after the front endpaper is inscribed by Reg Vallintine (the previous owner):
‘This Norwegian book on shipwreck and the sea was found by R. V. in the remains of the library of the ‘Lara‘ of Limassol which had been wrecked in 1981. She was sitting high out of the water on a coral reef island near Jackson Reef in the Straits of Tiran between Egypt and Saudi Arabia. Book taken on 3rd December 84 (see dive log*). Title ‘Men of the Sea’, a description of the Norwegian seas and seafarers’. *this refers to Reg Vallintine’s personal diving logbook.
