Description
Glassine envelope containing 6 cards in a folded paper cover with an image of the entrance to HMS Vernon on the cover. Possibly the memorabilia of John ‘Arthur’ Bartlett whose photograph is one of the postcards. It is dated 1918 when he was 20 years of age.
Also included in a HMS Vernon official Christmas card from Arthur Bartlett to his parents as well as a postcard he sent home on 14 September 1918 shortly after he arrived at HMS Vernon. The other postcards are of groups of men, the workshop and stern of HMS Vernon.
All postcards are sepia.
