Head and shoulders image of HDS member, Gary Wallace Potter superimposed over a black and white image of a diver in standard dress

Covid has prevented many of our heritage centres from opening their doors this year. Instead blogs and videos are making it possible to share our cultural heritage.

Winchester has launched a new programme of blogs called ‘Hist Bites’ and Gary Wallace Potter, one of our members and an expert on the life and times of William Walker, the diver who famously ‘saved’ Winchester Cathedral, is one of the stars of their programme.

You will be able to catch his talk on the Winchester Heritage Open Days website  on Wednesday 26th August 2020.

Gary is an excellent and entertaining speaker. This is a blog not to be missed!
