In recent years HDS member Ginge Fullen QGM has been instrumental in having blue plaques installed at Brixham and Appledore to commemorate the divers of WW2 who trained there.
On 19th September a third blue plaque will be installed at Rosia Bay in Gibraltar to commemorate the achievements of the Under Water Working Party. It will be attended by local dignitaries as well as Andrew Bailey MBE, the son of Lt William Bailey who established the UWWP and trained the Royal Navy’s first frogmen. Captain Al Nekrews OBE QGM will be doing the honours and unveiling the blue plaque.

10.15 am Free transport is arranged for all, departing from the central bus station at 10.15am on the 19th September.
11 am The unveiling ceremony will commence.
11.40 am Free transport for all to a reception which will be held at the Governor’s Residence. Refreshments and canapés will be served. There is a £15 charge per person for the reception. Please let Ginge know if you would like to attend.
2 pm Guests depart. Please note: no onward transport will be provided after the reception.
Dress code: Smart. Medals may be worn if desired.
