Awarded annually to recognise diving achievements which are, or will become part of diving history. The award may also be given to those contributing to a greater knowledge of diving history through the organisation of expeditions, research projects or publications. The award comprises a full size representation of the original
Deane helmet of 1832 in cold-cast copper on a mahogany base
and is held by the winner for one year. There is a replica
for the winner to keep. |

The trophy is awarded for an exhibition or display, temporary or permanent, which has done the most to present the knowledge of diving history to the general public in the previous calendar year. The trophy comprises a 1/10th scale model of the Dutch
Navy version of a Siebe Gorman helmet, accompanied by an
engraved wooden plaque. It is held by the winner for one

The trophy comprises a cut crystal glass 300mm tall and 170mm wide. It is engraved with the HDS logo, 'FrankOschman Trophy' and 'Historical Diving Society'. It is held by the winner for one year. |
